Brain Glitch

 

Still getting snow as of yesterday.

I put off my income taxes this year until the day before the deadline. As expected, I owed the state some money. This led to dreaming about taxes. Not my favorite thing to dream about.

It got weird in early morning when I went into a state of sleep paralysis. This has happened more as I've aged, and this was one of the weirdest experiences yet. My brain was aware that it was sleep paralysis, yet at least part of me was still asleep, and generating moving images of strange animation against the backlit, red wall of the inside of my eyelids.

The only sequence I remember involved a giant dog-like character, blue and white, expanding and shrinking, dancing by a bed. To one side of the bedroom was a character that much resembled Dino the dinosaur from the Flintstones, shrugging and gesturing with anthropomorphic arms.

Even in my sleep paralysis dream state, I had the presence of mind to marvel at the fact that the human brain can do such a thing. It's amazing and profoundly weird. I remember thinking "my brain is glitching out."
