Second Fire Season

For some reason people in Northern Arizona talk about "fire season" as running from about April through the beginning of the monsoon in late June to early July. But there is a second fire season after the monsoon departs. This is where we are now.

Really smoky in my neighborhood for most of the day.

Unfortunately lightning caused a wildfire near my house on the last day of storms of the monsoon. People keep referring to it as a prescribed burn but this is inaccurate. It is a wildfire that is being contained with controlled burns.

The neighborhood is full of smoke. I guess I won't worry about the fire unless they start talking about evacuations.
