Jumpstarter
It isn't snowy right now but you can see the slope of my driveway which makes it risky to roll the car out to get a jump. |
I like nearly everything about Honda vehicles but the dome lights can be tricky if you aren't paying attention. I've run batteries dead three or four times since I started driving Hondas in 2006. Since I didn't really need to go anywhere I ordered a car starter from Amazon that came with free overnight shipping and jumpstarted it myself. Apparently I need one on hand at all times anyway.
This kind of thing makes me feel stupid but I know smarter people have done stupider things. Like Bill Gates hanging out with Jeffrey Epstein for instance.
The funny thing is I realized I wasn't really stuck. Of course I could have gotten a jump from somebody else, but since the weather has been unseasonably warm, I could have easily ridden a bicycle almost anywhere I needed to go. Also, see photo above for the difficulty with getting a jumpstart when the car is in the garage. I should probably be riding a bicycle more anyway.
I recommend getting a jumpstarted if you have any reason to believe you could be stranded somewhere, even at home. I bought a Trekure brand Jumpstarter Beta04. It seems to have quite a bit of capacity on a single charger. The price is probably going to increase shortly due to tariffs. There are some cheaper models that are probably adequate for the average car, but I anticipate having a large, powerful pickup truck at some point so I bought more than I need right now.
